An estate spanning more than 300 hectares
in the heart of Luberon Nature Park
, VAUCLUSE provence-cote-dazur FR

Location

On the southern slopes of the Grand-Lubéron mountain range, in the heart of the nature park encompassing it, dominating one of the most beautiful villages in the region and near to major nature, tourist and cultural sites.
45 minutes from Aix-en-Provence and its TGV train station, 30 minutes from the A7 motorway and 55 minutes from Marseille-Provence airport.

Description

The 314 ha of the property extend over the southern slopes of the hills looking down, from top to bottom, on to the village.
On the heights of this wooded immensity, the house, although large, can barely be glimpsed from the entrance gates, guarding the long driveway leading to the property. However, once around the last bend, this majestic stone building finally comes into view.

The house

This impressive concrete and stone building, with its modern architecture that could even be deemed audacious given its steep setting, follows the contours of the land. Despite its size, the house blends in with the landscape, demonstrating its architect’s skill.
This hillside residence, with its harmoniously sized rooms, terraces and rock gardens, spans three stories.

The ground floor
Although this level is above the other two, courtesy of the lie of the land, it comprises the main entrance to the house. In addition to a kitchen and its annex, a vast lounge-dining room with a fireplace spans 100 m² and is extended by a library, followed by a large terrace with a panoramic view.
At its west end, this floor also comprises a suite that includes a study, followed by a bathroom and a very large bedroom featuring dry stone walls, outstandingly laid in a modern fashion.

The mezzanine floor
This intermediate floor comprises four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, as well as a small kitchen and a laundry room.
The garden level
The lowest section of the house constitutes a self-contained flat consisting of a kitchen-dining room, two bedrooms with two bathrooms and a keep-fit room.
This floor also includes an indoor swimming pool and a large wine cellar.

Leisure facilities

A swimming pool and a tennis court have been installed in a garden area at a distance from the house terraces so as to preserve their tranquillity.
This large swimming pool (5x15 m) is next to a terrace adorned with decoratively trimmed bushes.
The tennis court meets standards set by the French Tennis Federation.

The heliport

The helicopter landing pad is located between the house and the leisure area.
This approved landing area is subject to a specific access procedure.
The very large garage located behind the house could also be used for housing a helicopter.

The wooded estate

Spanning an exceptional surface area of more than 300 hectares, this estate is sort of like a private nature park within the Lubéron Nature Park.
The estate abounds with regional animal and plant life.

Our opinion

600 m² of living space in 314 continuous ha in the heart of Lubéron Nature Park. Visitors are taken more by the unique appearance of this contemporary fortress than the pedigree of its luxurious architecture.
The architectural feats and technical solutions resulting in its construction are well worthy of respect and admiration. The virtues of this little masterpiece with its incomparable style are enhanced by its exceptional setting.
