Location
The village, some 10 minutes from Fontainebleau, has direct access to the A6 motorway, putting Paris just 45 minutes away. All local shops (grocery/butchery/wine merchant, bakery, chemist) are within walking distance from the house, as well as restaurants, a school and a health centre, with physiotherapists and district nurses. It also has all the advantages of the neighbouring royal town: an internationally renowned palace, a forest estate, a golf course and numerous show jumping events.
Description
The long, traditional farmhouse
The stone walls, with their numerous small-paned windows and French windows, are covered with white rendering. The roof, covered with local tiles, features hanging dormers with hip roofs. Spanning approx. 225 m² of living space, the farmhouse is built over a vaulted wine cellar.
Ground floor
The entrance hall, under a cathedral ceiling, houses the main stairway, going upstairs. Said hall provides access to a laundry room, a toilet and a vast, double room with, on one side, a kitchen and an eating area, enhanced with a bread oven. An area on the other side is laid out as a dining room, with a white stone Louis XV style fireplace. A second stairway leads to a lounge. The floors are covered with old terracotta tiles; one section of the walls features exposed stone; exposed ceiling beams. This level is extended by a spacious garage.
First floor
A second stairway gives direct access to a lounge. This vast room is laid out under an exposed roofing framework and is enhanced with an impressive, white stone fireplace. A door opens into a bedroom, with a wardrobe and a shower room. The main stairway goes up to a corridor, leading to a bedroom, a bathroom, a toilet and a small room.

Our opinion
Near to Paris, this property is characteristic of the rural building heritage to be found in the local area. Its location, in the midst of the village, puts the shops within easy walking distance. A little further on down the street, a farm sells its produce direct to customers. In such a natural, cultural, French and international setting, with not only the palace, but also INSEAD, “The Business School for the World”, the structuring of the property as a main residence, with smaller annexe houses, has many advantages. Although a pleasant house to live in, it could also become a rental property.
