Location
This flat is ideally located in a lively, family district of Paris’ 15th arrondissement, on the edge of the 7th arrondissement. The aptly-named, Rue-du-Commerce is but a few minutes’ walk to the south-west. In the opposite direction, towards the centre of the French capital, the typical tranquillity and pleasant atmosphere of Paris’ 7th arrondissement take pride of place, in the many squares, public gardens and promenades that extend to the banks of the river Seine. This district abounds in infrastructures, with schools and nurseries as well as two establishments for the very young, one of which accepts children of varying ages, in addition to five infant schools, two primary schools, a secondary school and a sixth form college. Several underground stations are less than 200 m away, making it possible to travel all over Paris.
Description
The landing on the sixth floor provides direct access to this 71 m² flat. The entrance hall and the cloakroom give access to the reception areas: a lounge, followed by a dining room, both decorated with cornices and illuminated via wide windows. The latter open on to a balcony which, running alongside the flat, has a wonderful view over the Parisian rooftops, with Eiffel Tower on the horizon. A separate, fully fitted kitchen is extremely functional, with numerous cupboards. A spacious, bright bedroom includes a large storage area and has immediate access to the bathroom. This room, tiled from floor to ceiling, is fitted with an immense shower-whirlpool bath with massage jets.
The entire flat still exudes the charm of its old materials, with its oak wood parquet flooring, its moulding and its cornices as well as its 1930’s fireplace. A cellar in the basement makes it possible to store numerous objects, thus saving space on a daily basis.
Our opinion
The immediate surroundings of this flat, the Left Bank, are those of a lovely picture postcard with Eiffel Tower, Champ-de-Mars and the Ecole-Militaire (military school), as well as Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Montparnasse, all just a stone’s throw away. Living in this young, dynamic district, is to experience not only the historic but also the urban Paris, with all that the city can offer in the way of local shops, entertainment centres and public transport. In this atmosphere, this impeccably-kept flat reveals its star-shaped layout, its balcony running alongside and its unobstructed view. It is a permanent blend of the elegance and charm of the old with modern-day home comforts, making it ideal for a first-time buyer or as a Parisian pied-à-terre.
