Location
In an elegant district of the 8th arrondissement of Paris, at the intersection of the rue de Penthièvre and the rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, just a stone’s throw from the Miromesnil and Saint-Philippe-du-Roule underground stations. Nearby, the banks of the Seine and Place de la Concorde provide access to the centre of Paris and beyond. The Lévis and Madeleine markets, basic shops as well as a number of theatres are all at hand, so too are some prestigious schools.
Description
Family apartment
The apartment is in pristine condition and authentic features have been preserved. Large bay windows with Persian shutters let in light in all the rooms offering a show of foliage from the courtyard and changing lighting conditions courtesy of its multi-aspect. Under the 3 m-high ceilings, the walls are painted white or pale grey. The period ceilings are decorated with ova, palmette and rosette motif mouldings that match the moulded doors perfectly. There are diagonal-patterned bleached-oak parquet floors. The living come dining room spans 47 m2 and features a large library and a black marble fireplace with gilded wood mirror. In the kitchen with white lacquered wood fittings, two bay windows open on to the Ministry gardens. In the 15 m2 bedroom the period wardrobes have been preserved and the en-suite shower room is covered with white glazed porcelain tiles. A corridor leads to two 13 m2 bedrooms and their immaculate bathroom.
Our opinion
Right from the entrance of the property, a certain charm works by its silence and the paved courtyards embellished with bamboo, honeysuckle and azalea bushes. In the shade of century-old chestnut trees, some fountains and old garages for horse-drawn carriages bear witness to a bygone era. This home located in a lively and elegant district, the 8th arrondissement of Paris, is really meant for a family in search of an outstanding quality of life in the very heart of the Capital.
