The town of Puteaux extends, from the towers of La-Défense on the banks of the river Seine, over almost 330 hectares on the west side of Paris. Its industrial past, based in the fields of automobiles, aerospace as well as perfumes (Coty, Caron), and its wealth of artistic and cultural history (Lully, Bellini, Duchamp, Villon as well as Kupka) bestow it with a strong identity, enriched by the dynamism of the La-Défense business district. This small co-owned building, dating from 2010, is ideally located in one of the town centre’s shopping streets, just a 12-minute walk from the end of the La-Défense esplanade. Square-du-Théâtre and Square-du-Puits are but a stone’s throw away. All shops and amenities are immediately to hand as is public transportation, making it possible to reach the centre of Paris in less than 20 minutes.


The building housing this 2-storey flat dates from 2010. Its setting, behind a courtyard, ensures a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere. The flat

Both have storage areas, parquet flooring and double French windows, protected by railings. Further on, a shower room is tiled, as is a laundry room. Large windows overlooking the outside courtyard let a uniform clarity into all the rooms throughout the flat.
The stairway, featuring a clever blend of wood, steel and glass, goes up to the top floor. It leads to a 45 m² living room, the ceiling of which is a combination of aluminium window frames and cleverly clipped corners. It precedes a 20 m² kitchen, complete with an eating area comprising a central unit, ideal for taking family meals. This fully fitted room includes a micro-wave oven, a steam oven, a grill, a plancha and a wine cellar. It is flooded with light courtesy of its wide windows, easily operated by an electric mechanism. At the other end, a main, 16 m² bedroom has its own bathroom, with two wash-hand basins and a bath. This bedroom adjoins a dressing room and opens on to a long, 14 m² wooden terrace which, with its east-south aspect, also runs alongside the living room. This flat is also fitted with a reversible air-conditioning system and comes with a cellar.

Our opinion

This flat, featuring spacious areas with refined and geometric lines as well as wide openings, is reminiscent of a ship; a ship, whose upside-down hull is totally white and whose prow looks down on to the vast world. With its ease of movement and its mineral decoration, this 2-storey flat is an extremely sober haven, a lighthouse from which to forget storms. Its rooms, laid out longwise under the roofs, boast a certain minimalism, exuding a completely relaxed atmosphere throughout. Residents have but to let themselves be soothed by the copious amounts of light and the tranquillity.
