Location
The Batignolles district in the 17th arrondissement enjoyed a very active cultural life during the second half of the 19th century, when great writers such as Verlaine, Mallarmé and Emile Zola lived here. The painters Sisley and Manet also used to spend a lot of their time in the quarter and its cafés. Today, this village spirit lives on with its typical restaurants, small colourful shops, town hall, schools and nurseries. The flat is located in the north-eastern part of the district, very close to the La Fourche metro station (line 13).
Description
Further on, the internal wooden staircase, which is also painted white, has been designed to blend in perfectly with its surroundings. It leads to the two upper floors. The first floor is taken up by the master bedroom, its en-suite bathroom and mezzanine closet, as well as two other bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. A passageway serves as storage space and leads to a separate lavatory. The second floor is predominantly under sloping ceilings. It contains a large space with a bathroom that could be converted into a dormitory, a sports room or a large games room.
Our opinion
A triplex, between a house and a flat, with fluid and open spaces, marked by pristine lines. The wood, found here and there as a discreet touch of colour, enhances the bright white walls and infuses them with a warmth that is as surprising as it is pleasing. The property is most sober and modern. Everyone will be able to preserve their privacy. All this in Batignolles, in a flowery courtyard, like a particularly convivial piece of countryside.
