If, for a long time, Saint-Ouen was only prized for its flea markets, that time is definitely over: jealously guarded gourmet addresses, creative workshops for cinema enthusiasts, eclectic places where it is good to stroll, create or listen to music, the local “Audonians” live in enjoyable surroundings. Indeed, since the 2000s, Saint-Ouen has undergone spectacular transformations and has become as popular as Montreuil or Pantin. The Mob Hotel, Espace 1789, Commune Image and the opening of the Halle Gourmande sur les Docks at the end of 2022 are proof of this change. Initially taken over by artists looking for large workspaces, the city now attracts many families looking for a relaxed and hip lifestyle on the immediate borders of the capital. Description

Built in 1910, the house in authentic Belle Époque style features sloping roofs, coloured friezes and exterior walls made of sandstone, a rich and naturally insulating material. The two-storey building with a surface area of approx. 120 m² is accessed via a period glass door protected by delicately patterned ironwork and topped by a canopy. It opens onto a beautiful entrance hall, which leads both to the upper floor via the quarter turn staircase and to the living room and kitchen. All rooms boast mahogany-coloured wide-plank parquet flooring. The 25 m² reception room is very bright thanks to several French windows. The separate fully-equipped kitchen is large enough to include a dining area.
On the first floor are two beautiful bedrooms with generous volumes, a wardrobe and a bathroom. A balcony allows you to enjoy sitting in the sun well above the street level. At the top of the stairs, on the second floor, there are two other bedrooms of approx. 14 and 18 m², one of which is currently used as an office. The top floor has a separate toilet.
At the back of the house, a door from the kitchen opens out to the well-tended garden. It comprises a wooden terrace and has a total surface area of 91m².

Our opinion

A period house, full of charm and on the edge of the capital. With its high windows and colourful facade, its Art-Deco inspired aesthetics, this family home has an undeniable cachet, echoing the quiet and flowery street. Its layout is also a real asset: the spaces have been carefully arranged to allow everyone to preserve their privacy and create their own universe. All this in an increasingly sought-after area of Saint-Ouen. Set in this environment which is at the same time quiet, lively, urban and multicultural, the house is perfect for families who want to be swept away by the bustling energy of the city.
