This property cannot be seen from Rue-Abélard. An impressive stone gateway set in high walls conceals the main, paved courtyard from onlookers. Listed just like the courtyard, the gateway and the roof, the stone facade facing the courtyard features regular lines, traced by classical pilasters and moulding. The coping of a well, set in the wall with its scallop shell, and a short flight of steps stand out from this Renaissance style facade. The garden facade is more sober, its large openings framed with brick surrounds. The layout is classical, typical of 17th century mansion houses: the utility areas on the ground floor, with the rest of the house on the upper floors under a high roof, covered with tiles and featuring roof dormers on the two main slopes.

The house

This mansion house, constructed over cellars, spans approx. 400 m². It is in a good state of repair.

Ground floor
The main entrance hall houses a turning stairway, with its wrought iron railings, wooden handrail and oak wood steps covered with terracotta tiles. A corridor provides access to the rooms. On one side, a fitted kitchen, with a small storeroom and a room opening on to the garden; on the other, a dining room, followed by a laundry room and a toilet. A door at the end of the corridor opens on to the garden. Floors are covered with tiles and ceilings are 2.25 m high.
First floor
The first or noble floor spans approx. 100 m². It is reached via an anteroom, with painted decor. On one side, a lounge which still has its listed, Louis XV panelling, adorned with sculpted, gilt wood motifs. A large, coloured marble fireplace, with its jambs and its bevelled arch, takes pride of place in the middle of the through room, illuminated via large windows. The parquet flooring is laid in a herringbone pattern. A small reading room area, with a very big bookshelf unit, completes the lounge. And lastly, a small room next to it, currently in use as a bar, provides access to the courtyard via the outside stairway. At the other end of the anteroom, a bedroom, with listed period panelling enhancing its walls, also has its own bathroom.
Second floor
This level has a similar layout to the first floor. Its anteroom, lined with large, painted cupboards, opens into a bedroom on either side: the main bedroom, with its decorated French ceiling, its stone fireplace, featuring classical lines, and its beams supported on stone corbels. This bedroom opens into its bathroom and a study, with a polychrome ceiling. Floors are covered with old terracotta tiles. On the other side is a large, very bright bedroom, with its own bathroom.
Attic
The attic space, illuminated by numerous roof dormers, comprises a large, open-plan room, with a large bedroom and its own private bathroom on either side.
Cellar
A flight of steps goes down from the garden to the cellars which house the central heating and water treatment systems. Further on, a reinforced door opens into a wine cellar: a large, vaulted room which acts as a reminder that this is Burgundy.
The garden
This completely walled garden comprises an area laid to lawn and planted with flowers, a paved terrace surrounding a swimming pool and a large shed, covered with tiles. A row of deciduous trees, with a few conifers, screens the property from the neighbours.
Outbuilding
Overlooking the courtyard, a building topped with flat tiles and spanning approx. 30 m² could be used for a variety of purposes such as accommodation or storage areas.
