In a popular town to the south of Tours and seven minutes from the TGV station connecting you to Paris in one hour. In a residential area with many old properties, all the local amenities, shops, schools and transport. Backing onto the park and the adjoining 17th century castle, the property, the park and the swimming pool are bathed in sunlight at midday. They remain urban yet in the heart of a historic environment.


The property is accessed via a small street. Vehicles pass through a gate framed by two tufa pillars whilst pedestrians have access through an arch shaped wooden gate in the extension of the surrounding wall. The park stretches to the southwest and is enclosed by walls and fences. A cedar tree stands at the centre. The swimming pool, like a pond, is set back somewhat.
Backing onto the park and the outbuildings of the neighboring castle to the north, the house is on the property lines and faces the park.

The house

Made of tufa and covered with slate, the house has many south-facing windows. The central pavilion, with a two-sided roof, is framed by two more square wings with Mansart-style roofs. To the west, a tufa tower with a stone staircase is topped with a pepperpot turret. The decor has a variety of features including arched and ornamented pediments, zinc bull's-eye windows, finials and a large triangular Directoire-style pediment surmounting the double entrance door. The decor is subtle and marked with the date of construction: 1740.
With a living area of around 350 m², the rooms are distributed across two floors.

Ground floor
The large vestibule, with a cabochon floor, leads to the adjoining living rooms on either side. On one side are two lounges with French windows to the south overlooking the terrace, parquet floors and marble fireplaces; on the other is the dining room that opens onto the garden. At the back and across the entire length of the property, a winter garden brings light to these reception rooms. In the west wing are the kitchen opening onto the winter garden, a large bedroom with a shower room and plenty of storage space. The west staircase in the tower leads to the first floor. The the east wing is accessible via the living room or the winter garden and features a hall at the foot of the the east staircase, a bedroom and shower room.
First floor
In the east wing, the landing serves three bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom. The first floor of the central pavilion connects the two wings by a large attic lounge. A wardrobe space and a master bedroom with parquet floors and a fireplace in the western part can be reached via the tower's staircase; as well as another bedroom, an office and a shower room.

Our opinion

Surrounded by the Loire châteaus and a few minutes from the historic centre of the city of Tours, the house's classical 18th century architecture is a perfect fit.
