The building, dating from 1925, is the work of architect Ernest-Bertrand, as are the five other surrounding buildings. In fact, despite its eclectic architecture, the no-through road is laid out quite harmoniously. The top floor of the soberly sculpted, dressed stone facade features exposed brick. Several balconies, protected by wrought iron railings, form concealed areas.
Inside and on the top floors under the roofs, this 2-storey flat can be reached by both the main stairway and the lift. The lower level comprises a main bedroom, with a shower room and toilet, a bright living room and a fully fitted kitchen. Laid out longwise and featuring a back door, the latter is illuminated via a window and has numerous wall and floor units. In the lounge, an oak wood, spiral stairway was bought second-hand and adapted to fit perfectly. It provides access to the upper level of the flat taken up by two bright bedrooms and a bathroom, with a toilet.
The period decorative features have been meticulously preserved: oak wood parquet flooring, ceiling cornices, doors, wainscoting and moulding. This flat has been fully renovated using first-class materials as well as outstanding fixtures and finishings. Numerous storage spaces enhance every room for even more comfort. Heating is provided by a gas-fired boiler. A cellar is in the basement.

Our opinion

This property represents the charm of living in a lively district with numerous shops, next to one of the most famous and renowned of Parisian markets, whilst being sheltered from the joyous hustle and bustle of the district. In this sought-after setting, at the top of its tower surrounded by Olympian peace and quiet, this flat has been redesigned by an architect in such a way as to give it all the assets of a house. Although the rooms are bright and functional, they still have a patina of time, exuding the charm of Parisian houses. This property would ideally suit a family or professionals in search of a pied-à-terre or even artists seeking light and space.
