In the Proper Savoy region, the historical province of the Duchy of Savoy which became part of the French Republic in 1792 and currently forms the French department of Savoy.
On the hillsides of Chautagne, a small region with a mild climate where it is pleasant to live, bordered in the distance by the end of the ridge of the Jura Mountains which comes to a stop at the foot of the Alpine Arc, dominating the bed of the Vieux-Rhône and grazing the beaches of Lake Bourget.
Less than an hour by road from the outskirts of Geneva (1 hour from the airport), near to the lively towns of Aix-les-Bains (30 minutes), Chambery (40 minutes) and Annecy (45 minutes).
The A40 and A41 motorways can be reached in 35 minutes.

Set in parklands spanning more than 8,500 m² comprising lawns and wooded areas, this property stands in a dominant location looking down on villages backing on to a poplar grove that borders the Rhône Valley. The local surroundings are quite peaceful with few neighbours to cause problems.
The facade of this west-facing chateau, set out in a U shape around a gravel courtyard featuring an attractive source-fed ornamental pool, ends with an impressive round tower with a candle-snuffer roof. The annex farm
In the parklands on the east side, at a short distance from the chateau, is a vast semi-detached farmhouse spanning approx. 400 m² of living space over four levels with an independent access possible from the country lane. Major works involving the carcass intending to make it habitable having been undertaken several years ago, this large building is but in need of the completion of its interior conversion works.
The parklands, pleasantly surrounding the property, comprise wooded areas, gravel courtyards and lawns. An 8x4 m swimming pool on a lower level makes it possible to take advantage of the panoramic view over the valley and the distant mountains.
This chateau stands in a village in Savoy’s Chautagne region, featuring vines as well as lakes, which is becoming more and more sought after. Once a well-known hotel-restaurant, it has now become a private property, made pleasant to live in by its dominant location set in rural, quiet and unspoilt surroundings, even though its parklands are not extensive. Its proximity to large urban centres, its vast living areas and the propitious layout of the rooms are all good reasons for renovating it as a hotel. And with minor, carefully conducted restoration works, it could, for little cost, also once again become the private noble residence that it long was.
