The road Boulevard Henri IV is one of the Haussmannian routes built between 1876 and 1879. The development of this boulevard created a vista between the July Column on the square Place de la Bastille and the famous dome of the Panthéon building, south of the River Seine. This route was subdivided into construction plots relatively late on. The new Célestins military barracks, the headquarters of France’s Republican Guard, was built at the end of the 19th century. And the elegant apartment buildings opposite these headquarters were built from the 1910s onwards. On either side of the boulevard, 18th-century townhouses remind us that the property is still part of the city’s Marais district. Metro lines 1, 5, 7 and 8 provide the neighbourhood with convenient public transport links. And several renowned schools, including Massillon and Francs-Bourgeois, are nearby too.

Our opinion
