At the corner of the streets Rue de la Tour and Rue de la Pompe, a fully furnished apartment,
sublimely renovated with luxury materials by an architect
Paris, PARIS paris 75016 FR

Location

The street, which was previously called Rue du Moulin de la Tour, owes its name to the presence of a mill that occupied the tower on the former 14th-century ramparts. Until 1863, it was part of the town of Passy, before being incorporated into Paris. Rue de la Pompe is a lively street in the 16th arrondissement, boasting many top-quality food shops. Rue de Passy and its luxury boutiques, delicatessens and neighbourhood markets can be found very close by. There are many renowned educational establishments nearby, such as the Lycée Janson de Sailly senior high school or the Institut de la Tour, where Brigitte Bardot studied before becoming an actress. The area is well served by public transport, with metro stations Rue de la Pompe on line 9 and Passy on line 6 just a few minutes away on foot. It is also served by many bus routes.

Description

The apartment is on the first of the five storeys in the building, which was built in the late 19th century. The entrance is lined with wood panelling and furnished with an Art Deco console overlooked by a mirror with a patina finish. The main room has a surface of approximately 30 m² with solid oakwood strip flooring. In the centre stands a functional fireplace and chimney in black ceramic tiles, separating the lounge area from the kitchen and dining area. The lounge boasts custom-made bookshelves built around the sofa. The kitchen takes up an entire wall. The kitchen top, backsplash and floor are made of Carrara marble, while the facing of the furnishings is in oakwood and copper. The woodwork, bookshelves, wardrobe and panelling, as well as the openwork panels on the windows, were designed by cabinetmaker Dominique Roger. The cupboards boast solid bronze handles, from a renowned company. All the furniture and decorative objects are in retro style. They have been deliberately and carefully sought out to fit in with the ambiance of the apartment. A small corridor leads to the bedroom whose walls are made of ‘diamond fall’ granite panels. The lavatory is covered from floor to ceiling with small, dark green, glass cast tiles. The bedroom opens out onto the condominium’s garden, which is not overlooked by neighbouring buildings. The wardrobe space, with solid oakwood cupboards, opens onto the bedroom. The bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a tarnished metal partition and boasts a spa shower. All the bathroom fittings are Italian designed and the floor and walls are covered with Murano glass cast tiles. All the furniture has been sourced from antique dealers to give this modern and deluxe renovation a retro feel.

Our opinion

This apartment is located in the upmarket northern part of the 16th arrondissement, which is home to a succession of townhouses, private villas and majestic buildings. The opportunity to purchase an apartment you can move into straight away in this area is extremely rare. The interior decoration, warm ambiance and cosy atmosphere are exceedingly elegant. The choice to use noble materials is in keeping with the sophisticated spirit desired by the interior designer and has been enhanced by the work of skilled craftspeople. Renovating a property can be often a source of stress and unforeseeable extra costs, but the future occupier of this apartment will be spared such an inconvenience. This apartment, which boasts a certain notion of luxury, is ready to move into, as carefree as if booking a room in a luxury hotel.
