Location
It was King Louis VI, known as “the Fat”, who made the decision in 1124 to have a chateau built in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. From then on and up until 1682, almost all of the Kings of France would come and stay here, making Saint-Germain-en-Laye the ultimate royal city. Proud of its history and heritage, and attached to its roots, which links it with France’s national myth, Saint-Germain-en-Laye is a young, open-minded and forward-thinking city.
Only 25 minutes from Paris via the RER, Saint-Germain provides its residents with a genuine and welcome change of scenery. It also knows how to make good use of its many assets and economic vibrancy in terms of its heritage, nature and art of living.
Description
To the right of the entranceway, which is fitted with wardrobes, there is a vast living area of approximately 41 m² that includes a sitting room and dining room. Facing south, its four tall casement windows provide abundant luminosity for the flat, while two small balconies overlook the commonhold’s garden.
The flat also includes a fitted kitchen and two bedrooms, the windows of which all open onto their own balconies and bathe these rooms in natural sunlight.
In addition there are two shower rooms and a guest lavatory, while the distribution of the flat’s interior volumes makes it possible to create a third bedroom, if necessary. The flat also comes with an individual gas heating system, and, in the basement, accessible via the lift, is a large cellar and a parking place.
Our opinion
In this dynamic city, close to Paris, where residents enjoy taking a stroll through the pages of its history, people-watching at a café terrace or wandering along its shopping streets, the flat enjoys a privileged location, surrounded by peace and quiet and, yet, still close to everything. In addition, Saint-Germain-en-Laye is also known for its Sunday green market as well as its renowned schools like the Lycée International and the establishments of Saint-Erembert or Notre-Dame.
Extremely comfortable, the flat offers an ideal balance between its living spaces and sleeping quarters, while its many balconies provide it with sought-after outdoor spaces within a calm environment.
