Our opinion
The city of Catania lies at the foot of Mount Etna, between the towns of Messina and Syracuse. It has existed alongside the mighty volcano for around 3,000 years. It was rebuilt at the end of the 17th century in an elegant late baroque style. The city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The apartment lies in a historical building in the city’s old centre, on the road Via Vittorio Emanuele, near the sea front and the huge monastery of San Nicolò l'Arena. The fine dwelling has been masterfully renovated to bring back its past splendour, yet touches of modern comfort have been added to it too. This elegant haven has remarkable painted ceilings, wooden-panelled walls and chevron parquet. And the property is ideally located. From here, you can easily reach all the city’s monuments, as well as its nearby café terraces, in a picturesque backdrop that is typically Sicilian.
