Our opinion
Here, to the south of the river Tagus, extends the Serra-da-Arrábida, a wild nature park that borders the Atlantic Ocean. Perched on the heights, this “Herdade”, a name used for the country’s large estates, has unobstructed views over Serra-Sintra, with the Sesimbra and Palmela castles on the horizon. Spanning four hectares, the grounds include several houses and outbuildings as well as two mills, one of which dates from the 17th century. The second, converted into a guest house, adjoins the main building which overlooks a swimming pool. The renovated and comfortable interior features all traditional Portuguese housing codes.
