Our opinion

The impressive silhouette of the Castelnau building stands on the corner of Boulevard-Saint-Laurent and Jarry Park. This former medical institute, now renovated and transformed into residential housing, is one of the district’s oldest, most emblematic buildings. This flat is in the historic section of the complex, under the monumental entrance pediment with its colonnade. It is possible to watch people coming and going from the vast, covered balcony that looks down on to the main entrance of the building. The bright, comfortable interior has been decorated in a contemporary style, with pleasant, well-laid out rooms. Amongst its communal areas, the Castelnau also includes a fully-equipped exercise room as well as a vast roof terrace which looks out over the attractive neighbouring park. Just a stone’s throw away, the famous streets of Little-Italy come to life of an evening, with terraces and groceries selling the finest delicacies from the distant boot-shaped peninsula.
