Our opinion
Birthplace of Jacques-Brel, Schaerbeek gained its wealth in bygone days from the growing of morello cherries which were included in the composition of its famous local beer. Nowadays, it is a modern town with a certain number of the Belgian capital’s most outstanding Art Deco style buildings. This one stands not far from Josaphat Park, its zoo and its miniature golf course. The facade is part of a row of beautifully fronted buildings, featuring typical Belgian architecture. The interior, in an excellent state of repair, has large rooms, all with first-class, modern-day fixtures and fittings. This house exudes great character and includes some unusual decorative features such as its astonishing wooden arches, delimiting its living rooms. The wooded, back garden, laid out longwise, is a delightful asset for a townhouse as are the property’s pleasant terraces.
