Our opinion

In the distance meanders the peaceful river Sambre, which then goes through Charleroi before flowing into the river Meuse. The area around the large, old industrial town still bears witness today of a flourishing and tumultuous history, where the great European powers meet. This property, in a pastoral, rural setting to the south of the urban area, extends over 8,000 m² which is dominated by a manor house, typical of the Wallonia region, and also includes another two houses as well as outbuildings. Topped with a delightful, decorative tower and set amidst rose beds, the extremely elegant, red and white brick facade is dotted with some wonderful arched windows, set above its picture windows. The period interior still has some very beautiful decorative features dating from the beginning of the last century, such as floor tiles laid in a chessboard pattern, moulding and sculpted fireplace mantels. Although in need of renovation and improvement works, the 640 m² of usable rooms are full of potential. The vast wooded parklands and the proximity of the region’s main roads are further notable assets as regards a luxury hotel or bed and breakfast activity.
