Our opinion

If the dry stone of the Salento peninsula could talk, it would tell the tale of a land of pioneers, sailors and peasants. A land where olive trees extend for as far as the eye can see between the little, Baroque town of Nardò and the turquoise water of the Ionian Sea. This masseria, dating from the 19th century, stands near to the seaside resorts of Santa-Maria-al-Bagno and Santa-Caterina, not far from the Regional Nature Park of Porto-Selvaggio. With 3.5 ha of land, this property has all the assets required for an agritourism project or for a southern villa. Behind the house’s thick stone walls are spacious rooms and vaulted ceilings which give this interior a character, typical of the local region. Renovation works, together with a little imagination, will take care of the rest.
