Our opinion
In the heart of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, an old watermill stands on a stream, anchored in the landscape by its stone foundations and terraced walls. The original water wheel remains visible, a testament to a life centred around water. At the edge of Magoito beach, the property is set in a 5,000 m² clearing, preserved by the dirt paths that lead to it. The walls breathe history. The complex is based on ecological self-sufficiency: solar panels, batteries, an inverter and collected water tanks. A well can be drilled under licence. Legally classified as a water mill, this property does not fall into the conventional categories of housing.
