Our opinion
The Plateau district, the cultural centre of Montreal and Quebec, has regularly been awarded prizes for its quality of life. One of the most pleasant in North America, this predominantly French-speaking district is home to some of the country’s biggest artistic institutions and schools. This open-plan flat is, furthermore, laid out on the first floor of an old school, the Thomas-D'Arcy-McGee High School, a building dating from the 1930’s standing at the foot of Mont-Royal. The historic establishment has since been fully renovated and turned into an elegant residential building, divided into comfortable flats. The inside, under high ceilings enhanced with moulding, is steeped in light via wide picture windows, with unobstructed views over Jeanne-Mance Park. A multitude of small local shops, bars and restaurants are all part of the Plateau district’s attraction and reputation.
