Our opinion
So near to the end of the boot-shaped peninsula that its name has a Greek ring to it, Galatina or “Beautiful Athens” has retained all the architectural vestiges of its principal invaders since the Middle-Ages. The wealth of its heritage, heavily marked by the Baroque style, prevents any jealousy of Lecce, its close neighbour. This particular palace, between the town Palace and the Basilica of Santa-Caterina, has the unique feature of being enclosed by the town’s defensive walls and, above all, of having a good-sized, private garden. Its sober, external facade appears to have been especially designed to conceal its impressive interior decor. This property will appeal to enthusiasts wanting to breathe new life into it without radically changing the internal layout.
