A 46-m² apartment in Montmartre, in the Saint Pierre neighbourhood,
with no opposite neighbouring building and a balcony with views of the Sacré-Cœur
Paris, PARIS paris 75018 FR

Location

In the Butte de Montmartre sector, which was once a district renowned for the fabric trade, two major fabric shops, Les Tissus Reine and Le Marché Saint Pierre, are still going strong, both located near to the Halle Saint Pierre, which today houses a museum of outsider, naive and unique art as well as a gymnasium. The Abbesses district and Rue des Martyrs are two minutes away on foot. Beyond Boulevard Rochechouart, the lush, green Square d’Anvers leads to Avenue Trudaine, whose atmosphere is calmer with restaurants boasting large terraces that are much appreciated during good weather.

Description

This five-storey building stands at the corner of two streets and has light-coloured and sober rendered stone façades, with a belt course, moulded denticulated cornice, moulded window frames with ironwork guard-rails, plus windowsills and entablatures supported by corbels. A wooden spiral staircase climbs up to the apartment on the second floor of the building, where a very brightly lit landing leads to two homes. The apartment boasts seven French windows without an opposite neighbouring building. Instead, it overlooks the Sacré Cœur and its gardens as well as the Halle Saint Pierre.
The entrance door opens into a small entrance hall that leads to a kitchen, with wood stripped flooring, which is functional, with a dining space and top-quality household appliances: a gas-powered four-hob cooking top, a dishwasher, an oven and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. It is bathed in light through two windows. To the left of the kitchen, there is a lounge in the corner of the apartment, with three French windows, one of which opens onto a balcony with a sober iron guard-rail. To the left, light floods into the only bedroom in the apartment through two windows. As with the lounge, there is thin wooden stripped flooring. At the end of the room, there is the entrance to the bathroom, with a lavatory and a window that overlooks the inner courtyard of the building. There is also a bath, a washbasin and a heated towel rail. Another lavatory with a hand washbasin is located in the entrance hall. The heating and hot water is powered by a gas-fired condensing boiler.
In the basement, there is a cellar for storage purposes.

Our opinion

This is a bright, spacious, well-proportioned and well laid-out apartment, with quality floor coverings, fittings an equipment. It is ideal for a single person or for a couple. The property boasts broad views over the abundant garden at the foot of the Sacré Coeur as well as other emblematic monuments of the district, meaning there is a lush brightness and no neighbours opposite. It was fully renovated ten years ago. The façades overlooking the street and the courtyard were restored as was the staircase.
Two entry codes provide security of access to the building.
