Our opinion

In the distance, on a steep outcrop, stands Marvão castle, a major stronghold in Portuguese history. A proverb says that its ramparts, perched on the mountain, are so high that it is possible to admire birds’ backs. Just a stone’s throw away, in the valley, this property extends over more than 10,000 m² of land. A size that enables it to have a total of five independent houses, four of which hold tourist rental licences. Each one features a different decorative style, but they have all been tastefully constructed and converted in keeping with Alentejo’s traditional architectural codes, with tiles, wooden flooring and roofs typical of the region. Fully fitted, they also have solar panels for heating domestic hot water, underfloor heating and terraces with views. The external areas are set amidst verdant countryside and two swimming pools provide a refreshing coolness during the hot summers. This property is but an invitation to relax in the shade of the olive trees.
