Our opinion

Bringing to mind a late 19th century house in a spa town is already like spurting out all kinds of images of inventiveness, refinement and visual delights. This one should have been the home of Rodrigo-Berquo, architect in Caldas-da-Rainha. It was constructed by him in a similar vein to the thermal baths that he had already built in this spa resort, known since the 15th century. Rodrigo-Berquo did not perhaps have the time to live beneath the ceilings with their stucco decoration, on the mosaic and brightly coloured tiled floors or to go through the triptych, glazed doors that he created, but one thing is certain, his heir José-Filipe did. An enviable fate, easy to relive providing that several renovation works have been carried out. The town meets all requirements. Its surroundings feature a range of possible mountain, countryside, seaside and golfing leisure activities.
