Victor-Hugo once dubbed this little town, the “violet of spa towns”. On the banks of the river Vesdre, the town is renowned for its healing water and its warm springs. It also comprises some elegant character buildings such as this old coaching inn, standing on the outskirts of the village. Recently affected by flooding on the ground floor, the building awaits renovation but exudes obvious potential, with its land spanning 0.40 ha and its 450 m² of living space. The facade, outstanding in itself and typical of the region, is made of brick with dressed stone surrounds framing the doors and windows. It houses a luxurious interior, still with its original decorative features. The attic on the third floor could be converted. Outside, a large, wooded, terraced garden completes this delightful property that the author of “Contemplations” would not have denied.
