Our opinion
Generations of travellers, come from all over Europe to meander through the maze of narrow shady streets, dream about this old white town in the Apulia region. Legend has it that the houses have been whitewashed since the Middle-Ages, when this practice was the surest way of controlling epidemics. Built in the historic centre of Ostuni in the 19th century, this house has followed the tradition. Although this old-fashioned property awaits modernisation, it still exudes the special charm of this region’s large, traditional houses, with their elegant, timeless interiors. The main living rooms still feature outstanding, highly characteristic, star-shaped vaults and their original marble floors. This house also has a comfortable terrace and a garage. Numerous monuments, protected by the Aragonese walls surrounding the old town, are to be found such as Saint Orontius' column, with its abundance of Baroque decoration, going up to a height of more than 20 metres.
