Our opinion
The Mani has always regarded the sea as one regards something that has been tamed but never quite subdued. This peninsula of the Peloponnese—the most austere and proud of all Greek lands—has weathered the passage of civilizations without adopting their ways. Stone has always reigned supreme here. In Prosilio, amid the rocks, olive trees, and prickly pears, a house waits for someone to decide to finish it. The terraces naturally form an amphitheater facing the sea, as if the land had always known what it was meant to become.
