Our opinion
This contemporary villa lies among pastures and olive groves, near world-renowned vineyards in the beautiful countryside of Portugal’s Alentejo region. It offers unrivalled views of the Serra d'Ossa mountain range and Évoramonte castle. The pure-white dwelling has a bold design with fluid lines. Its interior is extensive, practical and bathed in natural light from large picture windows. The house was built in 2010. Work this year brought touches of modern comfort throughout the villa, adding solar panels and a borehole. The grounds cover around one hectare and are entirely enclosed. The property includes a saltwater swimming pool, a summer kitchen and an orchard. In the spring, wild plants and a carpet of purple, yellow and white flowers grow in the garden – beneath one of Europe’s most stunning starry skies.
