Description
The main house
This one-storey attic house comprises a central body with two pavilions, one of which protrudes. The facades, in cut tufa stone, have straight windows in various sizes, with small-paned windows or French windows. From the garden, a driveway leads to the main door in the central part of the house. A hanging dormer with an arched pediment adorns the gable roofs.
The ground floor
The door opens onto a hallway. It leads to a kitchen opposite, and on one side a dining room with a pellet stove, then, after a few steps, a full-height living room with a staircase leading to the first floor. The kitchen and dining room feature exposed beams. The living room has parquet flooring. The hallway on the other side leads to a corridor with access to two bedrooms, a bathroom, a toilet and a laundry room. The floors are laminate parquet in the bedrooms and tiled in the bathroom and toilet.
The attic
The landing leads to an office, a wardrobe, a toilet and a bedroom with shower room. Floors in the office are covered with coir matting, in the closet and bedroom with laminate parquet, and in the shower room with tiles. The rooms are illuminated by a roof window and dormer window in the study, a roof window in the wardrobe and a roof window and gable window in the bedroom with shower room. The beams are exposed.
The small gite
This is a single-storey, tufa-tiled gite with attic space. The windows are framed with cut tufa stone. At the front, a paved terrace is bordered by low rendered walls.
The ground floor
The door opens onto a main room with a staircase leading to the upper floor. There is a living room and an open-plan kitchen. To the side, a door opens onto the toilet. The floors are tiled. The ceiling beams are exposed. A wood-burning stove has been installed in a corner of the room.
The attic
A landing leads to the bedroom and shower room. The floors are parquet and the beams are exposed. The room is lit by a window in the gable.
The large gite
This consists of two adjoining tufa stone buildings, each with a single storey and attic space. There are a bay window with a wooden lintel, a hanging dormer and a small-paned window along the facades. The entrance door is in the centre. A wooden terrace is built in front of the bay window.
The ground floor
A glazed entrance door opens onto a vestibule with a staircase leading to the first floor and a laundry room. One side leads to a living room with open-plan kitchen, the other to a bedroom and bathroom with toilet. The living room features a tufa fireplace set against the back wall. The floors are tiled in the hallway, living room and bathroom, and laminate parquet in the bedroom. All the walls are painted.
The attic
A landing with toilet leads to a bedroom and shower room on one side, and a bedroom with bathroom on the other. All floors are vinyl or laminate parquet. The beams are exposed. The walls are painted on three sides, the last of which is left in tufa stone in one of the bedrooms. In the other, the tufa flue fills the back wall. The rooms are lit by roof windows and a gable window.
The barn
Built of rubble stone and tufa, this 38 m² barn is used as a garage, with an attic above. At the far end of the garage, a few steps lead down to a vaulted cellar dug into the hillside.
The garden
The garden extends along the hillside. A gently sloping path leads to various terraces, one of which features a swimming pool with a wooden deck. Semi-buried, octagonal in shape, it measures 5.5 m x 1.40 m. Flowerbeds are planted on either side of the driveway. Mexican orange trees, hydrangeas, willows, lavender - the many varieties create a mosaic of colours and shapes. The grassy hillside, a little steeper, continues to a grotto.
Our opinion
A comfortable, welcoming property, where the tufa stone buildings form an elegant, rustic whole. The interior is beautifully crafted, enhanced here and there by a few original stone features. The well-kept garden is a colourful backdrop to the gentle Touraine way of life, whatever the season. Family and visitors can easily be accommodated in the various gites on the property. A place that could be the starting point for long walks in the nearby state forest or on the "Loire à vélo" trail, to the treasures of the local heritage.
