Our opinion
Alegrete has a castle. It’s medieval, it overlooks the plain, and from the terrace of this house, it hasn’t changed in centuries. Between them lie 25 hectares that the Serra de São Mamede has shaped in its own way: vineyards that have been growing without water since 2022, cork oaks that no one planted, olive trees, and an orange grove at the center of which a spring has always fed a basin that has become a swimming pool. The house is rustic, understated, and unpretentious. It does not comment on the landscape. It inhabits it.
