Our opinion
In the 17th century, according to the traveller Evliya Çelebi, a scholar named Hezârfen Ahmed Çelebi leapt from the top of the Galata Tower wearing wings of his own making and flew across the Bosphorus. A few streets away, on Dibek Sokak, a duplex has chosen the opposite approach: to stay on the ground. It opens out onto a private garden of around 90 m², which is quite unusual in such a densely built-up neighbourhood. Spread across its two floors are a living room, an open-plan kitchen and two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Hezârfen sought the skies. This duplex has found something better: a little patch of land in the heart of Galata.
