Our opinion
The post no longer passes through here. But something of that original purpose remains within the walls: the idea that a building can be the fixed point around which life is organised. Casa dos Correios has stood on Luso’s main thoroughfare since the 19th century, opposite the Parish Council and the Tourist Office. The restoration has left nothing untouched: the wood panelling, balustrades and exposed timber framework. Some 240 m², three bedrooms including two suites, and open-plan living areas. A building that already knew what it wanted to be.
