Our opinion
In Estremoz, marble isn’t just something to be admired: it’s everywhere. It frames the windows, adorns the doorways and even features in the cobbled streets, to the extent that the town has earned the nickname ‘the white city’. The house has made it its primary material. Renovated in 2020 and then redesigned in 2025, it combines local marble with handcrafted fabrics and carefully selected pieces, without ever veering into the realm of mere decoration. Its two bedrooms, library and offices – easily adaptable – share some 221 m², whilst a balcony overlooks the town’s rooftops. Below, the Rossio and Lake Gadanha serve as a reminder that life here is still best experienced on foot.
