Our opinion
Here, the food never comes from far afield. The olive oil comes from the 120 olive trees; the avocados from an organic orchard of a thousand trees; the oranges, mandarins and lemons from their own rows; and the wine – a blend of Tempranillo and Syrah – from the cellars adjoining the house. All that remains is to set the table in the courtyard, between the old mill—now the main house—the guest flat and the caretaker’s cottage. The mill’s original canals, still full of water, serve as a reminder of what the site was before it became a home. All around, nearly 8 hectares of fenced-in land border the river, in the Gaucín countryside, twenty minutes from the sea.
