Our opinion
The countryside around Galatina is typical of the rural, sunny Salento peninsula, with iconic olive groves and the most elegant of traditional masseria farmhouses. This one stands at the end of a tree-lined driveway, on an estate spanning more than three hectares. A 19th century estate exuding character and potential, it awaits renovation. The inside, spanning a surface area of 250 m², is laid out around vast vaulted rooms that still abound in little gems such as this touching, pious, wall-painted fresco. Menhirs were also discovered on the property in the 1960’s. It is just a stone’s throw from the beaches and the little town of Cutrofiano, whose historic centre and shady alleyways are filled with the charm of the Apulia region.
