When the noise and stresses of everyday life become too much, we all start dreaming of a quiet, relaxing place to catch our breath. Of course, everyone wants something different, but sometimes one place can satisfy everyone. A wild land, the Causses du Quercy has landscapes that are so appealing exactly because they stay true to themselves. In the heart of unspoilt countryside, Domaine Quercus, an emblem of traditional local housing, has managed to refresh itself without losing its soul. Stone and wood form its structure, while the balance, simplicity and comfort of its interiors invite you to sit down and relax. Outside, the light, water, heat and scents of nature have such a presence that nothing else can exist. It's time to recharge your batteries.
On a stay with friends who own a second home in the Lot department, we fell in love with the area, its omnipresent nature and its remarkable architectural heritage. From our very first visit, we were amazed by this site, which was in ruins and overgrown with brambles. It was a place exuding exceptional serenity. After two years of work, we are proud to have brought this hamlet back to life while respecting its original character. We are also proud to have designed this place in line with our commitment to a contributing to a simpler, fairer, more tolerant and more caring society.
The estate has been renovated in keeping with the original architecture which is typical of the Causses du Quercy. No buildings have been added or extended. The gîtes and guest rooms are named after their original functions: the house, the sheepfold, the barn, the wine storehouse, the pigsty. All of the buildings are made of stone and the roofs are oak. Numerous low walls, also made of stone, mark the outside plots, once enclosures for farm animals.
Domaine Quercus is part of an ancient hamlet once occupied by farming families who cultivated vines and reared animals in modest, rustic living conditions. It was last occupied prior to its renovation in 2005.

The markets in Saint-Cernin, a small but very dynamic neighbouring village, or Marcilhac-sur-Célé, a charming village with a Tuesday night market. Discover the wines of Cahors and in particular the biodynamic vintages of Fabin Jouve and Clos Troteligotte. Visit the Pech Merle cave, decorated with original prehistoric paintings. Canoe or kayak down the small Célé river. Take a dip at the Sauliac-sur-Célé beach, with its small snack bar. Take the time to observe the exceptional starry skies in this region thanks to the very low level of visual pollution. We organise evenings with astronomers and have been lucky enough to observe Saturn on several occasions.
