In this sun-baked Andalusian landscape, Finca Los Cipreses is almost like a mirage. Its architecture, with its clean, taut lines, and the intense whiteness of its facades create an unexpected and refreshing sight that emerges from the heat haze. The cypress trees that give it its name point skywards as if to signal the presence of an oasis where water is collected in a swimming pool, where the lawns are green and the trees provide shade. Coolness seeps inside behind the half-closed shutters, reflecting off the floor tiles and immaculate walls. Resolutely contemporary, the décor features a colourful palette that brings the various spaces to life in a joyful symphony. For here, everything invites you to live life to the full, even the calm and the rest…Bienvenidos a todos!
Since 1991, southern Spain has held an unceasing fascination for us. From Vejer de la Frontera to Gaucín, the light of the white villages, clinging to the hillsides, never ceases to amaze us. Despite our years spent in Asia as journalists, we always returned here. Then came Ronda, a unique town perched on the edge of the abyss, profoundly Spanish. We loved to stroll there and entertain guests. Little by little, the idea of living here took hold. Los Cipreses was a natural choice: contemporary, minimalist architecture, true to our taste for white and clean lines, an established garden, and preserved tranquillity, without being completely isolated.
Built some 20 years ago by a Dutch couple in collaboration with an architect, the house was designed with particular attention to its orientation and the views of the mountains. Its contemporary architecture, with its understated lines, incorporates sunshades that filter the summer light whilst letting in the winter sun. Designed for high energy efficiency, it features a heat pump, solar panels and batteries, ensuring near-autonomy, as well as a water reserve. Inside, a spacious open-plan layout connects the kitchen and living room. Outside, several terraces invite you to relax whilst taking in the landscape.
Los Cipreses was built on virgin land, shaped 20 years ago by its first owners, a couple deeply attached to the site. They built the house with their own hands, living in a tent whilst the work was underway, and planted the olive trees that now surround the property, the source of our oil. Passionate about horticulture, they favoured local species — rosemary, lavender, fruit trees — allowing the garden to evolve freely. Over two decades, it has become a dense and vibrant Mediterranean landscape. Nearby, Ronda unfolds a history steeped in antiquity: Arab baths, a bridge spanning the Tajo, Roman ruins and Andalusian heritage combine to form a landscape deeply rooted in time.
The property stands out for its setting, opening out onto the mountains, where silence and light reign. In this landscape almost removed from the world, the house offers an atmosphere of rare tranquillity. The hospitality here favours the simplicity of a private residence with essential services provided. Resolutely contemporary, the house opens onto vast outdoor spaces, a saltwater infinity pool and paths perfect for a stroll. Inside, an art collection—notably Asian, but also Spanish and Portuguese—gives the place a unique and lived-in feel.
The ancient town of Acinipo boasts a remarkably well-preserved Roman theatre, perched on a cliff with spectacular views over the Andalusian countryside. In Ronda, several small estates offer private tours and tastings, such as "Cortijo Los Aguilares" or "Bodega F. Schatz". The garden terrace of the "Reina Victoria" hotel shows off of an unforgettable sunset. The rooftop of the "Catalonia" hotel offers views of the town, the ancient bullring and the surrounding mountains. "Jamonería Granadina" serves authentic cuisine featuring traditional charcuterie and local wines. “Casa Ortega” for traditional Spanish dishes with a modern twist. “Sensur” for modern and inventive tapas in a refined setting.
4600 € - 6000 € / week
The house is organised around a spacious open-plan living area combining the kitchen, dining room and lounge. On the same level, there are two double bedrooms sharing a bathroom. The upper floor features a master suite with a bathtub and separate toilet. Downstairs, a fourth self-contained bedroom, with a kitchenette and shower room, offers a private space.
