Neuilly-sur-Seine, HAUTS-DE-SEINE paris 92200 FR

Location

The building stands in a residential area of the chic suburban town of Neuilly-sur-Seine, just west of Paris. It is located on a broad boulevard, near shops and public transport links. Nestled in a calm, tree-lined environment, it is just a 15-minute walk from Pont-de-Neuilly metro station (metro line 1). And at the foot of the building, there is a bus stop (bus line 82).

Description

The edifice was built in the 1960s. It is well made and well maintained. A caretaker lives on site. The penthouse takes up two levels: the whole of the fifth floor, which is the top floor, and part of the fourth floor too. You reach the fifth floor via a lift. This lift takes you straight into a vast entrance hall with a marble-tiled floor patterned with black square inserts. Here, a staircase with an 18th-century-style wrought-iron balustrade leads up through a glazed door to a vast roof terrace that extends upon the whole of the building. This extensive terrace offers a 360° panoramic view of the city of Paris and the La Défense business district.

The apartment

From the entrance hall, a wooden double door leads into a lounge bathed in natural light from large picture windows that look out at the boulevard’s balconies and trees. A passageway leads to an office with walls lined with in-built bookshelves made of varnished wood. A door takes you into a first bedroom, which is extended with a balcony. This bedroom has a large adjoining bathroom and a separate lavatory. A landing connects to a second bedroom, which is now a small lounge. Here too, the walls are lined with wooden bookshelves. There is also an alcove beside a double door that leads to a dining room, which is filled with natural light from west-facing windows. From a round room, you reach a fully fitted kitchen decorated in a 1970s style. A door leads to an outdoor walkway that links up the end of the apartment. From the hall, you can reach a guest lavatory and a walk-in wardrobe too. A landing connects to a second spacious lounge, an office, a bedroom and a bathroom with a lavatory. Nearby, there is a domestic staff bedroom with a kitchenette hidden in a recess. This room leads to the outdoor walkway. From the landing, an indoor staircase leads down to the lower level. This lower level is self-contained and completely separate from the upper floor. It has a separate entrance hall with wardrobes, a lavatory and a storeroom. A corridor, where you find another lavatory and a new small kitchen, leads to a vast office bathed in natural light from large windows. There are several balconies. A door leads to a second office.

The roof terrace

You reach the roof terrace from the apartment. This terrace extends across the whole of the building’s roof. It offers a series of spaces lined with planters in which jasmine and shrubs grow, forming a veritable hanging garden up here. A little pond with mosaics punctuates this roof garden. From this breathtaking terrace, your gaze is drawn 360° around a spectacular panoramic vista that takes in the Eiffel Tower, the Sacré-Cœur Basilica and the La Défense business district.

The basement

The property includes two closed cellars, fitted for security, down in the basement. You reach them straight from the building. They serve as large storerooms.

The garages

The property includes four closed garages, fitted for security. You reach them straight from the building. A fifth garage could be made available too.

Our opinion

This unique apartment is a sumptuous penthouse, nestled in a highly sought-after neighbourhood of the Parisian suburbs. Its layout is practical and its floor area vast. The fine dwelling lends itself to family life well, with many rooms spread out inside, bathed in an abundance of natural light from large windows. The decor of upper-middle-class 19th-century apartments finds expression here, but with a contemporary approach. Reception rooms and utility rooms interweave to form a coherent whole. Moreover, the layout leaves great freedom for adapting the home to your needs and wishes. The expanse of the roof terrace is striking. This open-air space is a rare, precious asset. It forms a delightful hanging garden that enjoys absolute privacy. You could use this relaxing rooftop for summer lunches and dinners as you admire a 360° panoramic vista that takes in the La Défense business district and the entire French capital. The property is ideally located too, tucked away in an attractive district of the chic town of Neuilly-sur-Seine. It would suit anyone wanting to combine city life with residential calm.
